Applications

  • Medical Device Applications

  • Piezo Source provides products that provide the basis for the audio systems in MRI systems where the non-ferrous/nonmagnetic mature of the piezoelectric speakers provides zero interference with the imaging.
  • SODAR Applications

  • Piezo Source is the leading supplier to the lower atmosphere meteorology industry. Our speakers are used as both transmitters and receivers in SODAR instruments including echo sounders and acoustic radar.
  • Wildlife/Pest Control Applications

  • Piezo Source speakers are employed in several pest and animal control applications using Bioacoustics technology: Bird control Fox deterrents Mole and gopher deterrents Deer deterrents and other pest deterrents used our ceramics speakers because of its wide range of frequency coverage aside being more efficient in terms of cost and size.
  • Security and Military Applications

  • Piezo Source speakers find application in security and military applications as part of potential aggressor deterrents in the field, including convoy protection, fixed site security, maritime security, checkpoint, and USV/UAV mounted deterrents.
  • Bioacoustics

  • Bioacoustics primarily publishes high-quality original research papers and reviews on sound communication in birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, insects and other invertebrates, on the following topics: communication and related behaviour; sound production, hearing, ontogeny and learning; bioacoustics in taxonomy and systematics; impacts of noise; bioacoustics in environmental monitoring; identification techniques and applications; recording and analysis equipment and techniques; ultrasound, infrasound, underwater sound; bioacoustical sound structures, patterns, variation and repertoires.

  • Long Range Acoustics Device

  • The Long Range Acoustic Device (LRAD) is an acoustic hailing device and sonic weapon developed by LRAD Corporation to send messages, warnings, and harmful, pain inducing tones over longer distances than normal loudspeakers. LRAD systems have been used to counter piracy, as non-lethal crowd control weapons, and as communication devices. According to the manufacturer's specifications, the systems weigh from 15 to 320 pounds (6.8 to 145.1 kg) and can emit sound in a 30° beam at 2.5 kHz.
